To Strengthen Us in the Battle

To strengthen us in this battle for the Faith, here is a quote from Father de Cacqueray, the former District Superior of France.

“…Any heresy, by the attacks it directs against a dogma, engenders among Catholics who most love their faith, an instinctive reaction to goup around it in order to defend it, and thus leads them to deepen it and to nourish themselves with it. As a result, the spiritual orientation of souls is necessarily influenced by the battles led by the Church against the errors of the time. Their sanctification does not take place in a kind of spiritual isolation from the times in which they live, but in an interior commitment, often very painful, to deeply unite themselves to the most intimate movements of the defense of the Church and Her militant life. And it is only at the price of the acceptation of such a position that souls are elevated.”( Fr. de Cacqueray, Letter to Friends and Benefactors, no. 71, 2007)

"My dear Friends, you can easily see the importance of your role. […] You are a small remnant, but you carry the torch boldly. […] Ah! What a beautiful task, what a noble crusade lies ahead of you! The good God has placed you in a period of the history of mankind that is exciting for young people such as yourselves! It was just like this at the time of the Machabees when they left the corrupt Jewish society, and they too were very few. Judas Machabee with only eight hundred soldiers faced an army of twenty thousand – and he defeated them. And so, be confident, my dear Friends, God is with you. He will not abandon you, just as He has not abandoned us over the course of the last twenty years. Nor will He abandon you in the future because it is Himself that God wants. God does not want to disappear; He is God, He wants to remain God, not only in Heaven, but also here on earth. That is why He wants soldiers in His army."
-- Archbishop Lefebvre

"But the power of Mary over all the devils will especially shine forth in the latter times,
when Satan will lay his snares against her heel: that is to say, her humble slaves and her poor children,
whom she will raise up to make war against him. They shall be little and poor in the world’s esteem,
and abased before all like the heel, trodden underfoot and persecuted as the heel is by the other members of the body. But in return for this, they shall be rich in the grace
of God, which Mary shall distribute to them abundantly. They shall be great and exalted
before God in sanctity, superior to all other creatures by their lively zeal, and so well
sustained with God’s assistance that, with the humility of their heel, in union with Mary, they shall
crush the head of the devil and cause

Jesus Christ to triumph."

"I want(ed) to set down here the words that, foreseeing what was to come, I had already spoken to my priests in farewell:

'Always and everywhere, nothing can happen to us except what the Lord commands or permits. Not a sparrow falls without His knowledge. The world can take a great deal from us, but never our faith in Jesus Christ. “Who can part us from Christ? Neither life nor death nor any created thing can separate us from the love of God. . . . we are not like those who have no hope and no faith. . . . Rather, we must now more than ever feel that we have become exemplars for the world, the angels, and men. . . . As long as we are able, let us strive for the Kingdom of Christ, a kingdom of justice and mercy. But on the way thither let us recall the words of Tertullian: “The accusations of certain accusers are our glory.”

-Cardinal Mindzenty, at the time of his arrest

Mgr. de Ségur
from The Good Combat for the Faith (1872):

"Therefore, to preserve the gift of faith, we must fight; we are moving forward, surrounded by enemies: bad examples, the contagion of indifference, of current errors, of naturalism, and of the spirit of revolt which blows so powerfully today from all sides. We have to fear and to avoid the traps of bad doctrines, of false politics, of false teachings, of unwholesome reading. And, moreover, we have to fight against interior enemies that are no less dangerous, all of which, if we let them, would be able first to alter, then obscure, then diminish, then finally extinguish, in our baptized souls, the divine light of faith.

What a combat! It extends over the entire line of our existence. Not one point is always and completely safe; not one age, not one position. We must fight; it is the law. He who puts down his weapons is lost; and, as long as life lasts, the enemy is there, seeking, under a thousand forms, to lead us into its traps and to make us lose first the life of faith, then faith itself."

Thank you Unbrandable. Doesn't it show you how the faith never changes - when we can go back for centuries and see how the battle is/was ever-present. Nothing new in that direction - just that this is close to the final one. Not much time left for souls to get on board the Catholic ship of Faith...the doors are closing. As Our Lady is continually rejected and not given her proper place as Co-Redemptrix, the less becomes the chance to receive Mercy which is what all sinners need to receive through Her intercession and ONLY through Her intercession.

Our Lady only hears the voice of her children. Access to her Motherhood is within the Church Her Son founded. It is still there - strong and invincible amongst those who will never abandon her....in the Catacombs of our time.

I love St. Nicholas of Fluh, and here are two quotes of his words.

“An unhappy time is coming, of revolt and dissension in
the Church. Oh my children, do not let yourselves be led
astray by innovations. Rally and hold fast. Stay on the same
road, the same footpaths as your pious fathers trod.
Preserve and maintain what they have taught you. It will be
enough if you resist the attacks, the tempests, the
hurricanes that will arise with such violence”—St.
Nicholas of Fluh (15th Century).
“The Church will be punished because the majority of her
members, high and low, will become very perverted. The
Church will sink deeper and deeper until She will at last
seem to be extinguished, and the succession of Peter and the
other Apostles to have expired. But, after this, She will be
victoriously exalted in the sight of all doubters”—St.
Nicholas of Fluh
