You will no doubt be familiar with our ongoing campaign to defend faith-based schools in Australia.
The message in emails to MPs is clear: debate should focus on a school’s right to operate according to its beliefs, values or ethos – and parents’ rights regarding their children’s education.
Despite this, Labor and the Greens have done their best to focus public discussion on alleged discrimination against LGBT teachers and students by faith-based schools – despite a complete lack of evidence for their claims.
Now, a Labor-led motion in the Senate means the matter of purported “discrimination” has been referred to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs References Committee for inquiry and report by the second sitting day in February 2019.
