Below is Fr. Hewko's response to Fr. Ortiz's "Campaign of Prayers for the Resistance"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please relay to Fr. Ortiz, Fr. Voigt and all participants, that Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is most grateful for this crusade of prayers which are so much needed to maintain the Holy Catholic Faith and the clear position of our dear founder, Abp. Marcel Lefebvre. The attacks of Hell against good seminaries and Catholics who want to remain faithful to Tradition, call for an increase of prayers and sacrifices, especially that Our Lady of Fatima's request be answered! I do an Exorcism every month over the entire grounds here, and the seminarians raise their hearts and voices to God every day, three times a day, in the Divine Office as well as the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, meditation and rosary. Indeed, God never refuses the prayers of sincere, contrite and humble hearts and may He bring to light the works of darkness and confirm the sincere and humble in Truth. "Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy: deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man," says the Psalm.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel has already publicly announced last Fall it's disassociation from Bp. Ambrose. He did, however, profess before us, in word and writing, the Roman Catholic Faith, provided sufficient evidence (as far as we could tell) for his priesthood and episcopacy, he visited here twice to discuss his position, we never were associated with him and we will not be in the future. However, if he (or anyone) is hungry we will give him to eat, if he (or anyone) is thirsty we will give him drink.

However, one glaring violation against justice stands out in all that rise up to condemn this man, and that is, by the natural law, when someone is accused of a crime, he has the right to a fair trial which means his case must be weighed and competently judged by lawful authority. It is indeed a fact that not one of his accusers and those who have condemned him from pulpits and have written extensive treatises to declare his guilt, not one has spoken personally with him, even by phone. Not one! No, not even one. Not one has heard his side of the story and the facts, and therefore, justly weighed his case. When one deals with a matter of Doctrine, then the author of error is known, judged and condemned in his erroneous writings, and that suffices. But, in the case of judging an individual, the most basic laws of justice and charity demand a fair hearing from the individual himself. This has not been done at any time. This gross violation of justice for condemning, slandering, and accusing a man without a fair trial is something Fr. Ortiz and his accusers will have to answer before the Supreme Judge, Christ Himself. Even the Godless secular State will at least respect this basic law of justice.

The visit of Bishop Ambrose to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, remains just that, a simple visit. Hundreds of priests and clergy have come through the grounds of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel over the last 44 years. Some, holy and edifying, some less so, and no stranger hungry for bread, or the Truth, will be turned away. Let a Daniel arise to defend our innocence in this case that has been grossly exaggerated from those who have assumed to themselves an authority to declare ecclesiastical censures, judicial decrees and canonical punishments all of which show an amateur application of Canon Law and assuming a jurisdiction which does not belong to them. Again, a truly competent prelate handling the matter correctly, would respect the most fundamental law of nature and right, namely, a fair hearing from the one being accused!

Can it be that now, all those who associate with Our Lady of Mt. Carmel priests are in mortal sin for Bp. Ambrose's Mass in our chapel? This claim put forth by Fr. Ortiz defies all reason and becomes unbelievably ridiculous to turn the Mass of a visiting Catholic prelate, into an "Ecumenical Assisi Meeting"! God forbid!

Let it be repeated for those who have ears to hear, we are not associated with Bp. Ambrose, never were, nor intend to in the future. But in your charity, pray for his soul, which the Holy Gospel demands of us.

Our stand remains always the same, we continue to maintain the Holy Roman Catholic Faith in the line of Abp. Lefebvre and the Popes of Tradition, and with the grace of the Sacred Heart, we will fight all Modernism and all compromise with Vatican Council II and the New Mass, by wherever and whoever promotes it, until we have a perfectly Catholic Pope who will at last, consecrate Russia to Mary's Immaculate Heart, and issue in Her prophesied Victory. "Veni Domine Jesu!" ("Come, Lord Jesus!") Apocalypse 22:20.

It is noted that this faux "Campaign of Prayers for the Resistance" is directly targeted against the OLMC seminary. Why?

I ask, where is the mention and prayer for the deplorable errors of Bishop Williamson having people go back into the novus ordo apostasy and the negligences of the other two "resistance" bishops not standing up to this abuse of the faith?

Where is the outrage and need for prayer directed for these other causes in the "resistance"? Where is Fr. Ortiz in this situation? What is his position in this? There is no public announcement from him regarding Bishop Williamson nor condemnation against these sins committed against the faith.

Is already a number of people and priests in the Catholic resistance so weak to be influenced by Bishop Williamson's personal visions which are leading souls into another Vatican II-c?

Fortitude and charity is a virtue to serve the truth not an ornament to exploit in faux "campaign of prayers".

May God have mercy...

Back in the good old days of the SSPX I was advised by a priest that in the battle against the devil and the demons, it was better for lay people to invoke the holy angels, especially saying the powerful prayer to St. Michel the Archangel. Attacking the devil by means of exorcism might have dangerous impacts in many ways.
Being a layperson I always thought it safer seeking protection than going directly against the devil.

I heartily agree, having heard something similar in listening to Fr. Malachi Martin.

Exorcisms are the realm of the priests, not the laity.

Sorry to delete your off-topic version mercedes. It is the campaign that is unsavoury not Pope Leo's prayer.

Now again comes the question that Fr. Hewko pointed out regarding the gross violation of Fr. Ortiz and accusers in their many sins against justice and charity that the Holy Gospel prescribes, will Fr. Ortiz and his accusers apologize for their many violations and sins against other individuals?

Not only is Bishop Ambrose a catholic who professed before the priests, in word and writing, the Roman Catholic Faith, provided sufficient evidence for his priesthood and episcopacy, the accusers turn away anyway and attack in their pride and human respect to even strip this baptized catholic of his right of inheritance to the majesty of God. Regardless what he, or any individual, does after they are baptized catholic, they are always catholic for all eternity! As with the sacrament of the priesthood; which is one of the other three indelible marks that is on the soul of the person receiving them. The Catholic priesthood can never be taken away once received. If this person Bishop Ambrose was ever associated after in this time of apostation of Vatican II, or alleged to be an orthodox, it matters none in the mercy of God when such a soul returns as a prodigal son. The Good Shepherd finds his own.

Has not anyone asked the question how Bishop Ambrose was able to say a [complex] Latin Rite Catholic mass just like that if not already being a catholic priest? Learning the Tridentine mass requires a lot of practice and association of study. Ask any seminarian in the sspx and returning priest from the novus ordo going through their training -it cannot be done overnight! The supplied evidence proved that Bishop Ambrose is a Ukrainian Catholic and offers both the Ukrainian Catholic Rite and the Latin Rite.

Further, as we learn in our catechism, even if some people have a doubt as to whether a catholic priest can be unfortunatly in mortal sin, which was not in this case, while saying the mass privately or publicly it matters none to the act of the sacrifice and the sacrament being offered in that moment and the faithful receiving those graces. Only the catholic priest in question would merit little in the act of redemption being performed except for the actual graces to convert and do penance.

This crisis we are in, to use the words of Bishop Williamson, ironically, is a crisis of people not knowing and willing to live their catechism. The 1920's to 50's brought on the revolution of the 60's.

It is shameless the way these catholics are acting and professing their own private interpretations. Indeed the shepherd is struck and the sheep are scattered in their thoughts and revolution(s).

While these accusers are still persecuting others, as Paul did on his high horse against Christ, they do not help either the cause of Christ the king; they only provide in their pride the revolution to still be in its heights and deface the Bride of Christ further.

An apology from these accusers is warranted and due for the honor of God.

Is there humility?

Hello Rose

I think you're on to something here. I wonder though why Fr Hewko sees no problem with lay people saying exorcism prayers ?

In his opening sentence, Fr. Hewko said : 'Please relay to Fr. Ortiz, Fr. Voigt and all participants, that Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is most grateful for this crusade of prayers..'

He spoke of a Crusade of Prayers. He said nothing about exorcism. Amazing how one can interpret the whole body of his letter as implying he is in favour of the laity saying exorcism prayers.

The investigation should have included St Jude's Shrine, Texas (garygiuffre@att.net) and the Servants of the Holy Family - Fr Ward - (shf@servi.org) where the Revd. Ambrose celebrated the Tridentine Latin Mass decades ago. Also the claim that he said Mass for the late Fr Francis Fenton's Orthodox Roman Catholic Movement should be looked into.

Thank you Fr Hewko for being such a true example of Christ-like Humility.....I thank God every day and pray for you and Fr Pfeiffer to remain diligent and humble under these terrible crosses.

I am so tired of those other evil, blinded posters from the other forums who are just so relentless and one-sided.
Those posters who STILL want to find fault and criticize this priest in such a degrading way. By their fruits you shall know them..........There is NOTHING that is visible with these accusers, priests included, that shows any example of charity or humility. I would like to ask them a question........WHO is FR ORTIZ? What credentials more does he have than FR Hewko or Fr Pfeiiffer in deciding this case? And who asked him anyway? And yes, why hasnt he spoken to the convicted one directly at any point? And furthermore, why arent they mentioning praying for Bsp Williamson and the others who either back him up or keep silent about his errors? And Why are they not praying for Fr Abraham? And How come these
accusers are ONLY FOCUSED on OLMC? Why are they not worried about Fr Abraham doing Mass publicly? And Why is Bishop Williamson and the other bishops and the priests who follow him allowing this ?? Those are the LIARS and they have only one real purpose and that is to shut down OLMC .. Because if Fr Ortiz and all the Bishop Williamson followers really wanted a prayer campaign they surely in JUSTICE and CHARITY, and HUMILITY WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE INCLUDED THEMSELVES in it.....Since they are ALL responsible for promoting error and scandal either by association or silence.......So they can say what they want.. But they clearly show themselves for what they all really are...
And they should be ashamed of themselves before Almighty God. Its a mockery and a disgrace!!!!!

Staff has observed that members frequently read past threads by various 'resistance' priests. In order to clear up any confusion it has become necessary to provide an update.

Scrolling through Cor Mariae since its beginnings it will be readily seen that we have been down every rabbit-hole* in search of true priests.
We leave these past endeavours on the website, not because we remain supportive of priests we trusted, but to help others avoid making the same mistakes and to urge readers to pray diligently for them, for ourselves and for one another.
