In a play of politics, the modernist Cardinal Müller pens a letter on the eve of his removal from the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in expiration of his 5 years term, to be replaced with Mgr Ferrer Ladaria.

What kind of letter? One that disrupts Bishop Fellay's theatrical apple cart. Not too much though, because Bishop Fellay readily gives up on Catholic Tradition to form his hybrid class of conciliar tradition.

The General House of the Fraternity of Saint Pius X has just communicated to all its members the contents of a letter from the Cardinal Müller, who, for the naive, has made the effect of a cold, even icy shower. Here are the most tasty extracts:

" As you know, Pope Francis has repeatedly expressed his benevolence towards your priestly Fraternity, granting in particular to all the member priests the faculty of validly confessing the faithful and authorizing the Ordinaries of the places To grant licenses for the celebration of the marriages of the faithful who follow the pastoral activity in your fraternity. On the other hand, the discussion continues on the questions concerning the full restoration of the communion of your Brotherhood with the Catholic Church.

On this subject, with the approval of the Sovereign Pontiff, I deemed it necessary to submit to the Ordinary Session of our Congregation, meeting on May 10th, the text of the Doctrinal Declaration which was transmitted to you during the meeting of June 13th 2016, as a necessary condition for the full restoration of communion. Here the unanimous decisions of all the members of our Dicastery:

    1) Members of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X are required to adhere to the new formula of the Professio fidei dating from 1988 (see appendix). Consequently, it is no longer sufficient to ask them to issue the Professio fidei of 1962. [ed. this was already accepted in Bishop Fellay's 2012 Doctrinal Declaration]

    (2) The new text of the Doctrinal Declaration must include a paragraph in which the signatories explicitly declare their acceptance of the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and those of the post-conciliar period by granting the said doctrinal statements the degree of adhesion Due to them. [ed. This too was accepted by Bishop Fellay in an interview as "95% acceptable in conformity with tradition"]

    (3) The members of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X must recognize not only the validity but also the legitimacy of the Rite of the Holy Mass and the Sacraments according to the liturgical books promulgated after the Second Vatican Council. " [ed. This too was agreed to in Bishop Fellay's 2012 Doctrinal Declaration]

And the dear cardinal concludes, in cauda venenum, that " during the Audience granted to the Cardinal Prefect, on May 20, 2017, the Sovereign Pontiff approved these decisions . "

In his cover letter, Abbot Thouvenot recalls, very "opportunely", the words of Bishop Fellay at the conclusion of the meeting of the major superiors in Anzère on 28 June 2016:

" The Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X does not seek above all a canonical recognition to which it is entitled because it is Catholic. The solution is not just legal. It is a doctrinal position that must be demonstrated. ( ... ) Divine Providence does not abandon its Church whose leader is the Pope , Vicar of Jesus Christ. This is why an incontestable sign of this restoration will be in the will of the Sovereign Pontiff to give the means to restore the order of the priesthood, faith and tradition - a sign which will also be the guarantor of the Necessary unity of the family of Tradition . "

We are far from the "stampede " that some of us had celebrated with splendor and we can only thank Our Lady, in this centenary of the apparitions of Fatima , to have again , after June 2012, rejected the deadly danger of a Agreement of dupes.

Let us pray for our superiors who practice a dangerous "tango" - three steps forward, then two steps back - and thank Divine Providence for continuing to watch over the work of restoration undertaken almost 50 years ago by Archbishop Lefebvre Who showed the same courage as our seven deans and friendly communities loyal to his fight for the one truth.

Finally, on July 1, allow me to have a thought full of friendship and gratitude for the heroic obedience of our brother, Father Patrick de La Rocque, who humbly accepted his mutation-sanctioning Philippines and was refused to celebrate 25 years of priesthood at Ecône by the Superior General of his dear Brotherhood.

Remembering Bishop Fellay said he has "friends" in the Vatican, like Bishop Schneider, I would not be surprised he will pull out another press release in a maneuver of his own to both down play the content while submitting a progressive open door.

"Conciliar tradition" is Bishop Fellay's new focus. He proves he will do anything to attain it.

Bishop Fellay was in Manila years ago when news broke that the deal had yet again fallen through. The interested media while reporting his saying that the deal was indeed off, did not take notice of his very last sentence in his conference: I've been told that someone in Rome is going to offer us something even better.

And on and on it goes.

So what are the alternatives now for B. Fellay and the n-SSPX?
    • He, and his priests, have been given ecclesiastical jurisdiction for marriages -
    • about which he has written extensively casting doubt over marriages already sanctified under supplied jurisdiction -
    • let alone the Sacrament of Confession that is now supplied by ecc. jurisdiction
Will he revert to 'supplied jurisdiction' and unsay all his previous statements?
Or will he go the full way as has the Fraternity of St. Peter and the rest?

Can we pray for the third option? viz.

To recognize his ambiguous teachings/modernism by humbly, penitentialy and publicly renouncing them?

In other words will he accept Christ's offer to become a saint and lead the SSPX back to its founder's principles exposing Satan's control of conciliar Rome, uniting the resistance?????

After all St. Peter did no less. Having denied Christ he became the Rock to whom Christ gave the keys to His Kingdom.

Cardinal Müller and Cardinal Marx Join Forces Against the SSPX in Germany

[Katholisches] We document here a letter from Reinhard Cardinal Max, expressly forbidding the marriages conducted by priests belonging to the Priestly Society of St. Pius X.

    To the
    Honorable
Members of the Permanent Council of
    the German Bishops' Conference

    Most honorable gentlemen,
The Cardinal Prefect of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, Cardinal Gerhard Müller had addressed my letter of May 11, 2017, delivered to the consideration Permanent Council in which I expressed my concern about the possibility of granting authority to the priests of the Priestly Brotherhood of St. Pius X. on (on June 1, 2017). It expresses in its reply an understanding of our concern about the "still ongoing ecclesiastical illegality of the Society of St. Pius and the situation which has not yet been clarified" and stresses that it is "in the competence of the respective local ordinarius" to whom it grants the authority to conclude a marriage. He explained that the decisions taken by Pope Francis in favor of the pastoral needs of believers are determined by the consideration that the Priestly Fraternity is on its way to full communion.

Since we are able to meet the pastoral needs of the faithful who request a marriage in the liturgy of the Vetus ordo (extraordinary rite), by applying our guidelines for the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum for the German dioceses of 2007, the Permanent Council of 19 June, 2017 reaffirmed its decision of April.
In order to promote uniform handling in the German (Arch) dioceses, the Permanent Council has decided to make a corresponding text proposal available to members of the Permanent Council for publication in the Official Journal ( Annex ).

In this way, in agreement with the Cardinal Prefect, we take appropriate account both of the pastoral requirements and the church circumstances.
    Oremus pro invicem.
    Yours sincerely,
    Reinhard Cardinal Marx

Annex to the letter of the chairman of the German Bishops' Conference (PA V 3044)
In agreement with the Cardinal Prefect of the Pontifical Commission, Ecclesia Dei, the Permanent Council of 19 / June decided:

Appeals from the faithful requesting a marriage in the liturgy of the Vetus ordo (ritus extraordinarius) are to be passed on to the respective ordinaries. This will ensure that the request is taken into account and that a priest is entrusted, according to the guidelines for the Summorum Pontificum of 2017. The marriage preparation, the preparation of the marriage protocol and the registration of the marriage are carried out according to the ecclesiastical provisions. There is no provision for granting power to priests belonging to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X.

No surprise that this heretic would throw a turd over the wall at the SSPX on his way out as he weeps over his pink slip. This is the same "Cardinal" who proclaimed that a video camera would not have captured the resurrection of Christ - as if He rose in our "hearts" and left His body to decay in the tomb.
